Welcome Back!

It seems like an eternity since we've been able to bring you the reviews you have come to expect from this page, but we promise we had some good reasons. Given the state of the world in 2021 we decided just to kick back and take it easy. Easy meaning I welcomed the birth of my second child and my review partner became a first-time homeowner and brought along a new pup for good measure...

Our goal has always been to provide honest and informative reviews for some of our favorite sips. From interesting single barrel picks to some off the shelf bottles, all sixteen of last years reviews were sourced locally in Ohio and without the need for long lines. While our luck was extremely good (including lottery winnings and random bottle snags) it is no secret that the hobby isn’t slowing down soon even if we have to. So that got us thinking…

Let’s take a year “off” from the rat race and deliver content devoted to those people in the same situation as us. If your only day to "hunt" is a random Wednesday along with getting your groceries, you are in the right place...

Bottles with these characteristics are going to be the focus of the next year on the site. Each month (we know we are a month behind) we are going to provide reviews on off the shelf, quality whisky that can be had for under $30.00.

That way you can still enjoy a quality pour even if you are lazy like us, or don't have an army of lawns chairs available to stand watch at the local Giant Eagle. On the anniversary of the site, we will both do a blind of each of the 12 bottles reviewed and pick the ultimate "Poor Man's Pour" so to say...
